Happy Birthday, Auntie Crystal!

I wore white to work today in celebration of my auntie Crystal’s birthday! No matter the event or time of year, I looked forward to seeing her walk in with her crisp, white outfit! Happy Birthday, auntie! I’m doing a little less crying and a lot more smiling about you these days

To My Lovely Ladies

To my lovely ladies: At some point, we have to stop having checklists and start having standards. Yes, he’s cute, but what does his spirit look like? Yes, he’s educated, but when was the last time he read his Bible? Yes, he’s successful, but does he tithe? Yes, pays for you, but does he pray for you? Checklists are OK, but when you strip away all of the things on the surface, be sure that who you find beneath is someone worth sharing your world with…and more importantly, be sure that the woman you are compliments the man you want him to be. 💗

Self Love

People are always more encouraged when we share how God’s grace helped us in weakness than when we brag about our strengths. I am brave, but I’ve been afraid before. I’ve been rewarded, but I’ve also been rejected. I’ve been in love, but I also know what it feels like to be heartbroken. Some days I’ve felt far more fearfully than wonderfully made. But I’ve learned to love every part of me just as God does…and you should too

Attention Ladies!

Attention ladies: Being single is not The Plague. Having standards is not against the law. We are living in a world where disrespect is praised and chivalry is being called “thirst.” Never lower your value for the likes of a man who is more than likely feeding you the same lines as the next woman. Having someone to spend time with isn’t worth your dignity. After all, being single now until the right man honors you is far better than eventually being heartbroken by the man who never respected you.
