Something for the Fellas

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a forever female living in a hookup culture. As a woman of God who has saved myself for marriage, there are a lot of reasons why dating is interesting for me. There’s no shortage of men who pursue, but there’s a shortage of men who prepare.

Being with a true woman of God means first being a true man of God. It means being ready to set aside childish ways in order to properly lead that woman and any potential children all the days of your life. That means being a provider who can take good care of himself before bringing anyone else into the picture. It also means being honest and committed to the things of God. Too often I hear women tell me how they thought they’d met the right guy, but he eventually pulled back because he wasn’t quite ready yet.

So, to my fellas: Don’t chase what you aren’t prepared to catch. If you’re not ready, don’t play. Just stay away. Let God work on you until you’re in a place that you can walk in your full potential. Anything less isn’t fair to you or your future wife.

Love Jones

Went to see Love Jones the Musical. The singing was absolutely amazing but the storyline didn’t give me the 90s vibe I was hoping to feel. On the bright side, I finally got a chance to wear this darling romper before it gets too cold in the South 🙂

Don’t be like the rest of them, darling. 👑

Choosing to simply be yourself is a lost art these days. In a world of reality TV and social media influence, it’s hard to tell one person apart from the next. Individuality has been replaced with conformity. People are so afraid of being rejected by man that they forget they’ve already been accepted by God. It’s important that we understand the power in being who He created us to be. Every piece of our personality was crafted by the intentional design of our Creator.

I could probably talk for days. I am usually the most dressed up person in the room. I own more pink than should be allowed by law. I love the ballet and symphony. I secretly listen to Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. I believe in fairytale love. I’m such a giver but often forget to give enough to myself. I like wearing onesie pajamas. I talk to God all day to the point that people think I’m taking to myself. I watch the same old movies and TV shows repeatedly. I’m a news geek. I prefer Netflix over nightclubs. I am often called “granny” by people around my age. I am certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but I am unapologetically London Gabrielle Brown…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you believe you have to fight for the victory, then you’ve already lost. Great message from my pastor today!
